The Most Comfortable Boots You Can Buy Online

When shopping for boots, there are a few things to keep in mind to determine comfort, especially if you can’t shop in person. Good arch support and proper fit are essential, but so too are quality materials, a thick outsole for shock absorption, and snug (but not too tight) ankle support. I researched dozens of boots from top brands and used my own extensive testing and industry knowledge as a shopping writer to narrow down the choices. Whether you’re looking for everyday Chelsea boots, durable winter boots, or stylish knee-high boots, these are the most comfortable boots you can buy.

What Stands Out

  • They’re impressively durable, comfortable, and versatile.

What Could Be Improved

  • They’re not completely waterproof and are hard to slip on and off at first.

I thought I knew good boots until I finally bought myself a pair of Blundstone Originals. Not only are these the comfiest boots I’ve ever worn, but they’re also clearly the most well-made and durable. They have a rugged Chelsea style with a leather upper and thick outsole; I prefer them to the Classic Chelsea style because I like that they have a slightly higher shaft.

These boots are incredibly versatile, especially since they come in eight colors (I have the classic black). I wear them with everything once the temperature drops, including jeans, skirts, and dresses. They’re comfortable right out of the box, too, although be warned that the snug top makes it difficult to slip them on and off. The pull tabs are certainly a welcome addition for that reason, and I can confirm that it does get easier as you break them in. Once they’re on though, you’ll be comfortable for hours.

They’re surprisingly lightweight, and also very warm—I didn’t realize how little insulated my previous boots were until I wore these. I found them to be true to size (Blundstone recommends going up a size for a wider fit). Take note, though, that these boots are not completely waterproof. I’ve worn them in the rain and been fine, but I wouldn’t wear them if I were spending a lot of time in wet conditions. Still, I can’t recommend these boots enough, and they’re my go-to from autumn to spring.

What Stands Out

  • They’re easy to slip on and off.

What Could Be Improved

  • They’re made of vegan leather, so aren’t as durable as pure leather boots.

The Soda Jaber Boots are a great value buy for anyone looking for comfortable heeled boots. They don’t have a firm top, so they’re easy to slide on and off, although those with narrow feet will probably need to wear thick socks to keep their feet from sliding. Still, the platform sole gives these boots extra stability, and the 2.5-inch heel provides extra height without sacrificing comfort.

The major con of these boots, and budget boots in general, is that they’re made of faux leather and rubber, so they aren’t nearly as durable as those made from real leather. They also don’t have any water resistance, although you could get away with wearing them for short periods of time in inclement weather. On the other hand, they’re incredibly versatile and look great, and they come in a range of colors to suit any style. If you’re not willing to splurge, these boots should be your first choice.
